Ok you guys.  2.8L bottom end has new rings and bearings.  I took the head back to Performance Machine Shop so they could clean up the seats after my porting and polishing.  Schneider is grinding me a radical .560" lift, 300 deg duration cam and promise to send it next week.  The powerband should be good for 4.5K to 9K RPM.  Darn, I might have to flycut my pistons for valve clearance. Smiley  All new lash caps, valves, seats, guides, springs, retainers, seals, timing chain, sprockets, tensioners and some good turbo head bolts to keep all that compression in!  Muwahahahahaha!

Remember guys, check your mirrors often, stay to the right, and wave me by on the straights!

Now you're talking, hell almost as good as the M.  [:-devil] Although I think my powerband starts a little lower and I can only rev to about 8200.  Not bad for a 3.2L though.  Just remember at the end of those straights are some curves [:-blindfold][:-shake]

Let's not have any agriculture experiences this time guys[:-spin]

I am in also. Just mailed off the entry form with check today.

Hopefully we will get a big flurry of last minute entries. Looks like only
5 so far. (Ryan, Robert, John, Mike and Ed) Perhaps others are like me,
"Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
Especially if it involves spending money. "

But this is HUGE bargin from the SEAT_TIME per DOLLAR viewpoint.
About 3 hours of seat time would be what.... about 3 years worth of
autocrosses if you got 6 runs at each???

See you there. I will try to get some good photos of the great BMW v Z rumble in the valley. (Both are XC-3 cars I guess. Non turbo 6 bangers. So they aren't in my class. Thank goodness.)

Hope to see you there.

Mike, even though I weigh 1988#, you may still have me at a disadvantage cause I only have 2.8L and even the open checkbook 2.8 N/A ANTIQUE Z builds can only make 275 HP.  Plus I need to take one hand off the wheel to shift Smiley  Heck, for what this car cost me, it could almost be a GRM $2004 car.

Not to throw a wrench into things, guys, but keep in mind of a little note shown on the classing structure page -  http://www.rgvpca.org/events/coastal_classic/class_structure.htm

It says, "NOTE: closed wheeled cars with non-DOT tires such as slicks will be progressed 1 class higher."

FYI:  I reserved a night for Robert and I at the South Padre Island Howard Johnson and when I mentioned the "PCA discount" the woman I spoke to said "we don't have anything like that on file"

...I still reserved the room and told her I'd have someone clear it up.

Yes, I know Ken.  But I will be on the same couple year old DOT tires that I was on last time.  But if anybody would like to be my tire sponsor, I'll greatfully accept a set of R35 Hoosier slicks for the event and move up a class.

Really, I meant no offense to you, John.  Just trying to get some of those high-horse power cars (say like a BMW M3 [Cheesy]) out of competition with me.
I'm hoping the 350Z's will start running slicks, because there is no way I can compete with them.  At least not as my car sits now.

No offense taken.  Just letting everybody know that as far as I can tell, I am classed correctly.  But you can bump us if you want.  That way Robert stands a chance of trophying again (as long as I don't crash or break down) Smiley

Is there an equal restraint rule in effet for this event? I have run with PCA in the past @ TWS, ect, and they require this.

What class did you enter John? Im classed XC-3, because of the modifications, and tire, but I thought you were in RC-?, or in XC-4 because of your mods...I might be mistaken.

Robert, unless you are turbo'd or have non DOT slicks, you should be in XC-2.  Since I am n/a and running DOT tires, I am in XC-3 with the rest of the 6-bangers and turbo'd /supercharged 4 bangers.

I understand that, but, I won XC-2, Im now on slicks (for the hot laps), and have modifications extending past the XC-2 limits. Technically, we should BOTH be in that RC class because of the modifications we've done. Ive talked to Rene several times about how far you can go. The other gold 240sx has to be in XC-3 because he stripped the interior.

entry form sent with check via priority mail.  rene, you should get it tomorrow or friday.

I've ordered all my jets, venturis and emulsion tubes for the webers so the 924 should be running up to snuff.  also getting some azenis as the current ones are feces.  should be an interesting event!
