I just thought this over a little bit and on second thought, since I'm not going to Nationals this year, I'll just go with the L28 block, crank, rods and pistons and forget about notching the L24 block.
Ken, sorry about this but I need to keep my 280ZX flat top pistons.

And now I shall follow up with the requisite smack talk.
Keep out of your way in the twisties? Hell you got to at least be close enough to see me. Oh and I don't pit so don't try the t-bone move at turn one[:-bigmouth].
All in all, should be a good weekend....can't wait...I like the looks of Z cars in my rearview mirror.[:-bonc01]

Is that airport active during the week-end? If it is I might be able fly down and cut out that long drive.

My goal is to have the CRC 924 in ready condition for this event. We'll see if I have enough time to provide another on-track obstacle for you guys...

Yes, they keep the main runway open during any and all events. Don't know what's invovled as far as tie-down area or parking the plane. My understanding is the airport is leased to a private freight company. Talk to Rene Molina about it to make sure.

Their classing structure is below. I would be XC3 on DOT tires and XC4 on road race slicks.
Non-Porsche Cars
XC1 4 Cylinders or less, two valves or less
XC2 In line 5 cylinder; rotary; four or more valve per cylinder 4 cylinder
XC3 6 cylinder; 4 cylinder turbo or supercharged; V6 & 4 valve per cyl 6 cyl
XC4 8 cylinder; turbo or supercharged 6 cylinder
XC5 Greater than 8 cylinders; turbo or supercharged 8 cylinder; turbo rotary; any 2 stroke equipped vehicle;
XO Non-winged open-wheeled cars
XOW Winged open-wheeled cars
NOTE: closed wheeled cars with non-DOT tires such as slicks will be progressed 1 class higher.

JohnB, oh I know how to signal to pass but I have only had to use it once [V] [:-gnasher] and that was against a Viper. Not saying I won't let you pass, you just have to get close enough to make it happen [:-bigmouth].
zmw, can't say that I remember what STi taillights look like, none have ever passed me. [}:)]
Kevin, if you really want to show me/us how to drive then I propose you be my co-driver and lets see how you fair in a right wheel drive car [:-eyebrows]. Seriously, if you want to give the M a shoot give me a call at 703-669-0392 and we will discuss the specifics.

Tempting Mike, but I have to pass on that offer....
Why you ask?
1) Driving a $50k car wheel to wheel in an event not covered by insurance is beyond my budget. 2) The thought of killing a friends $50k car chills my blood. 3) Torque scares me.[:-bigeyes2]
And finally...
4) I'll actually be in Colorado that weekend attending an event at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
But before the stuff starts hapenning again in the spring the Red Rex should be up and ready for some fun. You will kill me in the straights but I soooooo want to see you get away from me in the turns.
hehe, I like this smacktalk stuff, it's fun [^]

Kevin, Cool but I believe my insurance will cover this due to the fact that it is a DE Event and not a sanctioned wheel to wheel event. Have fun in Colorado.
