Saturday January 7, 2012 - Annual Tech Inspection, Cruise and Burgers

We will meet on the NW side of town at 9:30am, take a short 45 minute cruise by Medina Lake and end up at Bobby J's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Helotes.  The Annual Tech will be in the back corner of Bobby J's parking lot before we go in for lunch.  Bobby J's has a room reserved for us.

***  Non-members are encouraged to attend.  Learn how to tech your car.  If you join the club you can be issued an annual tech sticker.  ***

If you don't want to participate in the cruise, just meet up at Bobby J's at 11:30am.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday 7 January 2012
9:45am:
Meet at the Southwest corner of 471 (Culebra) and 1604, Alamo Ranch shopping center, in the Target parking lot.

10:15am:
Start cruise.

11:15am(ish):
Arrive at Bobby J's, let's park together on the far end of the small lot.  Short annual tech then eat!

Notes:
-There will be control cars to take care of the dreaded accordion effect.
-We will attempt to stay within 5mph of the posted speed.
-There are some dirty slippy roads so be aware.  The 471 to 1283 curve is sometimes frightening, I've had four wheel drifts at 45mph when the gravel trucks do their marble dropping.
-If you have an off we will NOT render aid but will ridicule you until the end of time.
-If you get pulled over by the local Sheriff we will help them tase you and giggle like Miata drivers.
-Be respectful in and out of the Bobby J's parking lot.  Helotes PD likes to do their job.  I have a good personal story to tell!

My attendance is pending.  Depends if I'm driving to Oklahoma this weekend to pick up Diane's new car.

Looks like there is going to be fantastic weather on Saturday!  Come on out, bring a spouse, gf/bf/bff or anyone who just wants to take a drive and eat a burger.  It'll be fun!

You're also welcome to bring someone else's spouse or significant other.

Options seem to be limited these days...

As for Cruise and lunch, I'll probably drop by for lunch since I live right around the corner...the only thing I have to cruise right now is the Jeep. I should be staying home to wrap up the miata.

I'm too old to get up early enough for the cruise, but I'll be there for the burgers.

Great turnout!  With my Western burger(sauce, bacon, grilled onions, pickles and cheddar) I had fried jalapenos(they call them 'bottlecaps') and fried green beans.  I know, sounds odd but they were fantastic!  They were crispy crunchy even after they got cold.

Good times!

I want to thank everyone who showed up today. I personally had a good time, spent some great, productive time with really good autocrossers (autocross is an affliction that effects only the nicest of people), learned a few things and got to see some neat cars. We issued 24 Annual Tech stickers. I apologize to the ones who had to wait. It won't happen again. Thanks!
