SASCA 2012 Points Event #1 - Jan 29, 2012.

This event will be held at Retama Park, located in North-Central San Antonio, just north of I35&1604.
You will need to enter the facility via the driveway closest to IH35

• Yellow Area: Pits and General Parking
• Green Area: Race Surface

The timeline/schedule of events will remain the same as usual for this event

Work Assignment Selection at Registration

We encourage everyone to register for each event via the axwaresystems.com registration site.  When you register you will be able to select your work assignment preference.  We appreciate you doing so because it makes it easier to organize the day and hopefully make it more likely you’ll do a job you enjoy.

Each work assignment will indicate the number of workers we need for each job for the day.  Simply look through the list of registrations and count the number of folks already signed up for the job you’d like.  If the position you want has not already been filled by the number needed then just select it.  You’ll likely get the job you requested but you could be asked to do something else instead.  The software will not block over selection of a particular job so please count the number of selections already made for the job you want before you select it.   If the job you want has been filled select a different one or you can wait till you get on site.

The number needed for each position is based on the assumption that we’ll only run two heats for the day, which is usually the case.  If we have over 90+ participants we’ll likely run three heats.  If so, we’ll assign positions for that third heat on site.  Again, this is a job preference request.  You may be asked to do something else if needed.  Thank you for your support.

Thanks for signing up for timing trainee.  Would love to have another volunteer.  We're trying to get more back up folks who can handle the pace of activity in the trailer.  If you're handy with a computer and can pay attention to detail without getting rattled we'd love to have another volunteer or two. 

We're also always looking for announcers.

DSP and FSP:  Check the new final draft rules for 2012.

I just finished reading the new final draft of the 2012 SCCA Rules.  It looks like some of the proposed rule changes have not finalized as we thought they might.  The Mazdaspeed 3 and MINI JCW are in the DSP class instead of the FSP class as the proposed rule changes indicated a few months ago.  Also, the rules for STX have changed as they proposed.  Anyone in those classes should check the new rules carefully to decide which class to enter.  I signed up for FSP but will have to go to DSP if I make the move from STX.

I am registered and signed up for early gate!  I'll also be without my STI this year as I'm now piloting a GTR.  Hope to see everyone there.

Ok.  The HEAT IS ON!  Rather than leap to the lightly contested DSP class for an easy trophy, though, I shall remain in the more manly STX class and simply post the inevitably lower PAX times for my JCW compared to your Mazdaspeed...uh, 2 ??

As you might notice, we do have a very manly Mazdaspeed 3 in the STX class.  Over here those special little tires you DSP guys have to use to get your "macho" on are not allowed.  Simplify your life...reject your false sense of control and speed...leave the dark side...come into the light...give up those corrupt ways...STX it!!
