Hi there,
I left after my work heat and my run heat, and I just realized from the posted result that I won a trophy in the Novice class!  (6th, skin of my teeth, but hey, out of a field of 34, and considering I started autocrossing on Oct 16, won't complain).  When and where is the meeting so that I can come pick my trophy up?  You usually mention it at the Drivers meeting, but I don't remember hearing about it today.

I love this sport.  I love SASCA (just paid my membership this morning, weird coincidence).

The software automatically placed the 'T' next to a certain percentage of the drivers in each class (I am actually not sure how it determines that number)...  For the novice trophies, we give them out for the top 5 finishers each time...  Unfortunately, we don't have any that go farther than that.  With that said, we'd still be happy to have you join us at the meeting and be part of the 'other workings' of the club that don't actually happen just on the day of the event itself.

Hope this doesn't discourage you from coming out!

Ricky,

Thanks for the explanation.  And anyway, it was a false hope, I guess the results I originally saw were after the first two heats only, the in the final results I dropped to 10th place - I'm still proud of it (only my 3rd outing), though, and no, it won't discourage me to come back.

I'd love to see where and when the meeting is held (assuming it is open to all members), I could not find it on the web site.

You may want to note, reviewing the detailed results, that he timing issue we had during the run was possibly people walking across (or cones too close to) the midway point timing light;  my buddy and I got in at least 1 instance each a nonsense mid-way time (10 seconds less than our best time otherwise for the first half), and it looks like you had to do manual adjustments so that the overall time worked out, and we avoided having to do a re-run.

I had a great time.  Thanks again!

Hi Minh, and welcome to SASCA!  We're glad to see more people getting (and staying) involved in autocross and SASCA.  Congrats on 10th out of 34 Novice entrants.  It may seem like nothing but being in the top 33 percentile only after 2-3 autox's is not bad at all.  Keep up the enthusiasm and don't be afraid to ask for help; even after several years of experience like some of us.  We never stop asking questions.

As for the meetings, they are held the Wednesday after the latest SASCA autox.  So for example, our next event is this Sunday, December 11th, so we will be having a meeting on December 14th.  Smiley  Meetings are held at Grady's BBQ on 281/Nakoma.  Beer & Banter starts around 6:45pm and the official meeting start time is 7:30pm and usually runs for 1-1.5 hours.  Hope to see you there!
