SASCA July 13, 2011

Introductions, nice turnout…about 28 people!

Event Recap:  62 drivers, low turnout, lots of other events going on right now that probably contributed to low attendance.  6 runs in two heats, with a dedicated lunch break.  Kudos to Dan Scanlon for a fun and challenging course design.  There’s been behind the scenes discussions on how things work in regards to worker assignments.  Checklist is being worked on to post on the inside door of the trailer.  Volunteer assignment sheet to make sure all bases are covered and jobs done to make the event occur more efficiently.

New Items:
Light board not functioning at the event, no power up…working on finding out what is the issue.  Craig is handling.  May need to send it to the manufacturer for repair.

Next event is over 30 days away.  Tow duty, John Patterson will tow back.  Craig may or may not be available to take it there.  Axware is going to add a few categories, so you can volunteer for job functions at the event when you pre-register for the event.  We will continue to train more people on Axware software, and other in trailer duties.  Posh job, but necessary to have plenty of people trained to work in the trailer.  We need a course designer for the next event, ie an Event Master.  Plenty of literature listed online through our site and others to learn how to do it.  Chris Leclair has volunteered to create the next course for our August event.  Lee will begin having “trainee” positions available, for announcer, Axware, PA system, course design, etc.  This will expose new people to these positions to help out the club.

Newbies…don’t feel afraid to ask for help with car set up, pressures, etc.  A lot of people who have years of experience that can & will help you.  You’ll never know unless you ask.

T-Shirt design:  Eric contacted Aaron Ross, of RPM Illustrations, in regards to creating a design for T-shirts.  Need member input in regards to what we are looking for in a design.  Once we purchase artwork, we are sole owners of it to use at our discretion.  Aaron to take feedback and work on rough draft to send to Eric.  Cost $80.00.

Questions:
How to get run times:  Board not working.  Trying to get live streaming times posting to Axware.  There is about a 3 minute delay, but available.  Short wave radio channel.
Banner:  Will be hung from now on.
Passengers:  Must have a helmet on & be over the age of 16.
Children:  Are allowed on site, parents must sign waiver.

Upcoming events:
Houston Div Event:  this weekend.  Sign up before registration is closed.
July 31st - SPOKES event #7 at SAR, support our fellow club
August 14th - SPOKES event #8 SAR
August 21st - SASCA Event #8 at Retama
Aryton Senna documentary movie coming to Austin, SPOKES is planning a club movie night…August 24th.  Anyone interested we’ll go up together.
Nebraska Nationals event…Ricky placed last on his first visit.  It’s a blast, and a great learning experience.

Great turnout!  Sorry I couldn't attend.  Sounds like it was a good meeting.

- I will tow to the next event.  A huge thank you to John Patterson for consistently towing in the afternoon!

- The light board will be worked on in the next couple days.

- Nice job Lee!

I'll help with setup at the Aug 21st event. If I want to learn the timing software who do I talk to?
