Here's what I posted on the Racing Ready blog, from the Official COTA (Circuit of The Americas) website!
http://racingready.com/2011/06/05/formula1-austin-usgp-race-date-announced/
That date is set in
BOLD RED
on my calendar!

I'm sure that there will be quite a few of us in the club wanting to go. We'll have to start planning on a group buy of tickets and hotel!

Project is on hold, again, because of dispute between promoter and track investors/builders.

Talk about controversy!
So, where do we think this is going?
Hello Bernie!?!
http://racingready.com/2011/11/15/very-concerned-about-circuit-of-the-americas-recent-extremes/
I'm not at all happy about this!!!
We need to go up to "Wild Bubba's Meet, Greet & Eat - One Year Before The Race" event!
This Saturday, 5pm, a couple of miles north of ABIA Austin Airport, at the Hitchin' Post.
Details here on
SanAntonioF1Club.com

NJ won't happen.

http://www.racingready.com/sanantoniof1club/2011/12/01/is-this-cota%E2%80%99s-last-chance-for-the-formula-1-austin-usgp/
We shall see if the 2 B.E.'s (Bernie Ecclestone & Bobby Epstein) can finally come to terms by this coming December 7th!

Technically, the NJ race disqualifies the Austin race from the 25m per year from the Texas Event Fund. But with Austin politics, who can guess!?

I suspected NJ F1 may nulify Austin.
But NJ wants too much money out of it, to make it worth Bernies time.
Arg, I really wanted to watch the V8 Supercars run! DAMN IT!

I think there will be a verbiage dispute on the state funding. I don't think it specifically states if the qualifying event has an 'in state conflict' or 'in the nation conflict'. No one probably ever expected this type of issue to arise, so the rules of the state backed fund are vague in this area. Just another opportunity for another delay. It's a shame that politics will likely get in the way of this venture. Such huge opportunity for the state of Texas in tourism revenues.

They seriously don't seem to be getting exactly how huge this really is.
What a shame. This single act had totally redeemed Texas for me. Oh Sweet Texas, what a foul temptress she can be.

Looks like the race is 'on' again! Payment has been made and race is on the 2012 schedule that was just published.

Any idea when we can purchase tickets?
We need campgrounds. I myself want to reserve 2.
1 for myself, 1 for my boss. (NASCAR Fan I'm trying to convert)
