So what will it take to increase the turnout at the club meetings? Better food, beer, a different place or time? I thought a raffle for useful items likes tools and other auto accessories might be fun.
Any ideas?

John's right. There are lots of things we can do to increase attendence at meetings. The meeting attendence has dropped off significantly (eight people last night [if you count Craig])and it is very important that we get people to participate at a greater level than just competing in autocross events. The health of the club is indicated as much by who and how many come to meetings as it is to the car count at an event. It is obvious that job, family, church, health, distance and a great many other uncontrollable factors can make it difficult if not impossible to attend, but those of you who can but haven't attended, try harder. If you can't make it but you have an idea that might motivate someone else, we want to hear it. If anyone needs a ride from South Austin or further south, get in touch with me.

Just an idea that really doesn't cost you guys anything.  Raffle off free registration for the next event to give out to someone.

There is Alamo and Green Acres as two options.

I was never able to make them b/c I worked until 10pm.  That has changed to 7pm so I hope to make some more of the meetings.

The meetings are now the first Wednesday after each of our events, at 7:30pm (most folks get there around 6:45pm) at Grady's BBQ on Nakoma & 281.

Any reason for a new comer to attend just yet? I work around the corner from there but not sure if I should still attend.

All are welcome and encouraged to come out, whether you are just interested or have been doing this for years, it's a good way to meet the people you'll be running with and see how the club is run and help steer where we go in the future.

Eric and I have been posting on Facebook and social mediums and it seems to be working on spreading the word.  From asking people at the meeting the consensus has been...

1) There have been meetings all along???
2) We never know where the meetings are or when
3) Are the trophies given out there now instead of right after the event?

28 people at this past meeting!  Good job on getting the word out.  Smiley
