Things are really starting to come together for this event... Now all we need is *YOU* to sign up and participate!
Please pre-purchase your T-shirts at this link below... We will need to get shirts ordered by June 2, so only a couple of short days available to order!!
http://msreg.us/AlamoDivisionalApparelKeep in mind that this event is not going to be run like a 'normal' SASCA event. Pre-registration is critical. You won't be able to come up and pay on Saturday morning and expect to participate in an SCCA Divisional style event.
You may be asking yourself -- why is this going to cost me $75? (Or $90, if you are not a current SCCA member)...
1) A welcome dinner is provided for Friday evening when you register for the event and get your car tech inspected.
2) You are getting two separate AutoCross events in one weekend (each day will be a different course!)
3) You will be competing with the best of the best from all over our "Southwest Division" (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, etc).
4) Saturday night banquet dinner is covered, along with a couple kegs of beer.
5) Trophies handed out in each respective class, based on number of entries in each class
As you can see, there's a lot more to this than just a normal event.
For those that have never been to a larger SCCA event, some things are a little bit different -- the event itself starts up much earlier in the morning than our local events (this is why we cannot take walk-up registrations on Saturday morning, and we *strongly* encourage you to come out Friday evening to get your car tech inspected in advance). In the case of a Divisional, the first car should be out on course around 9am on Saturday, and around 8am on Sunday. Each car is assigned a specific parking space in grid and cars run in numerical order. If you are a single driver in a car, your number needs to be less than 100. For a second driver, their car number will be the same as the first driver, but with a 1 added to the front of the number (i.e. first driver might be car #89, while second driver would then be #189). After you are done with your competition runs, you need to leave your car in your grid parking space (in "impound") until the preliminary results are published and all competitors are in agreement with the results. This is also the opportunity for competitors to look over each others' vehicles for class legality.
Even if you don't think you will do well at the event, these events are a lot of fun -- besides, who doesn't enjoy spending a whole weekend talking cars, trash talking and bench racing, and just socializing with a big group of folks that enjoy the sport as much as you do.
