I just received a call from Retama Park... We are going to have a slight change of 'venue' at the site this weekend. Due to the live racing season still under way, and the fact that one of the horses that has a $250k race coming up that they don't want to have to sedate/tranquilize due to noise, we are going to have to move the course over to the front 'valet' lot closest to I-35.

Thanks Hubert. Jay got my last set of Hoosier take-offs but I'll have another set coming off in a few months if you'd like to try them on your stock C5 wheels.

Does this mean that we'll be using a different entrance? For those of us that are directionally challenged and easily confused. Though I'm not as bad as the girl who asked me where Michigan was, and she was serious.

I will be hauling trailer back to storage and if I can get there early enough I will be glad to pick it up.
I am sure we will enter property at the same location. I may drive out there this week and check out the lots. Maybe we can use the lot where we turn left for the pit area.

Yes, we will enter the same location as we have always used. It will be a bit more of a challenge to keep people from crossing through our area, but we will manage. We'll use some cones to direct folks to where they need to go.
I have updated the Google Map linked above to show where we will pit/grid. The area is actually pretty large there.

Even if you can't make it to run, stop by and get some rides. Most people are pretty accomodating, and I'll be happy to have you along unless it's my third run
FWIW I've been a member of e46fanatics for 5 years now and have finally made a post on their regional section about coming out to autocross, hopefully we can get more than 54 drivers at the event......

Here are a several photos of the parking lot where we will run this weekend. There is only one entrance/exit for this lot and its near the entrance to the main bldg. We may want to get out there early enough to block off access to parking lot and re-direct Retama patrons to parking at adjacent lot.
Lot is about .4 mile around with a low area for drainage near one of two light poles in lot. Lot is pretty clean except at the southeast end.

This will be my first one. Hopefully it won't rain until after the event. I also am not looking forward to the smaller course due to the horse in that one stable.
I'll see you all out there.

Valet parking huh? Everyone is way too busy if I have to bring up the Ferris Bueller's Day Off senerio... Depending on what type of vehicle drives up, we take it thru the course and park it gently in the lot next to our paddock. Can you imagine the look on their face as they exit the car with (pick a driver), helmet in hand to get in as you ask them how much air pressure is in their tires. CTS-V, corvette, minivan.... hey it is ok, I'm a professional sir.

I'll be there, but if rain looks likely I'll be forced to leave early.

That was a blast!
I can't believe how much fun it was. It's 10x more fun than the drag strip.
When will the results be posted?
