In an effort to obtain more entries, the t-shirt contest has been extended to the end of June.  Please submit your ideas any way possible: paint, word, corel, and the good old fashion...scanned pencil sketch (use your kids' crayolas if needed).

David McKnight!  Where are you?  Maybe we can just use his older designs?
http://www.sasca.org/forum/index.php/topic,2783.msg37287.html#msg37287

For those who are too lazy to click on the link, I hot linked to David's site(apologies..).

I'm no artist so here are a few really lame ideas, I still vote for David McKnight's stuff though.

1)
front: sasca logo, pocket
rear:  text on top 1/3:  "Down and Out in San Antonio?"
image in middle:  (blatant ripoff of Rick Martinez/CD "I'm Down")  3/4 view of cone down and outside of the box.  To make it different from Rick's it can be done in a loose graphic style.
tramp stamp:  "meetings on the first wednesday of every month" and www.sasca.org

2)
front:sasca logo, pocket
rear:  (in the style on an old school rock concert tee shirt)
"SASCA City Tour" or "SASCA South Texas Tour"
"Coming to a venue near you"
(double column on the venues, you know, like a concert Tee)

Brooks
 Blossom
 Retama
 Widsor
 Alamodome
 Verizon
 River City Raceway
 Blossom
  AT&T
 Verizon

BLOSSOM!    (this list needs to be corrected by someone with a memory, possibly put the year(s) next to the venue)
tramp Stamp: www.sasca.org

3)
front:sasca logo, pocket
rear:  (I have a lot of text but none that is PC or tasteful so we'll just skip it)
Plan view of a 90° corner
Black tire marks fade in on early apex entry and fade to brown as the tire marks go from straight to crossing spirals as they leave the outline of the corner
Can add cones for color

Somebody should be able to adapt the photo of Craig's Teal FE leaving a cone in mid-air for the back panel of the shirt.

YES, I like the flavor of the McKnight T-shirt designs better!

So, does somebody want to simplify the image of Craig TT antics?

I like the combination of the SASCA logo with the orange line around the cone for the front with the big cone by the wheel for the back. I would not have a year on the shirt and would pass on the list of venues.  I favor a clean design with no years so we can use the same shirt for a while.

I agree with Jay.  No years.  I like the idea of the cone and tire for the back of the shirt.

Is it too late to work on something and submit it?

Lol, I still LURK around, though all my $$$ and free weekends go to HPDE's nowadays.   Wink

I'd be happy to convert any old designs to 2010 or 2011 or Sans-Date in exchange for a free T-shirt.   Cool

Hasn't happened yet due to the lack of submissions...  It's not as much fun if there aren't enough designs to get a good vote going.

Good thing no one wants a year, it will probably be 2011 by the time it is sorted out.

I'd definitely make sure that it has great contrast in color and value. How realist or abstract it is should depend on the general views and the favor of your art club members. You could even mix the two. MAYBE if you really do want to incorporate artist tools you could probably have a a painters palette with monochromatic faces in the different colored paints or a paintbrush diagonally across the front/back with a drop of paint (i'd go with rainbow paint or your school's main color!) and have something symbolic in it or even the word art, or the words art club.
