So, what do ya think?  Take #2?
I'm sure most of you know what happened to the last one!!!
http://www.sasca.org/forum/index.php/topic,3940.0.html
Since when does it get cold in S.Texas?  Wink
Hopefully the end of March won't surprise us with an uber-cold day!  Oop... Did I just jinx it?

What:
A few of us have recently had the chance to run the 1/4 mile for the first time.  It's not the same as an AutoX run, but rest assured, it's a hell of a lot of fun none-the-less.  But one thing the 1320 has over running an AutoX event, is that good 'ol side-by-side against your foe!
So.. Who's in?  Lets' get a good group out there and find out who can go faster in a straight line!  San Anton' or Austin!!  Smiley

When:
Wednesday March 31
Street & Grudge Racing (Test & Tune)
Gates open at 7:00, races start at 7:30
Why Wednesday? Why not on the weekend?  Anybody who has been to a Weekend Test-n'Tune vs a Wednesday TnT can tell you, it's not worth it.  On the weekends, there are sooooo many people there you'll be lucky to get 2 runs in after 3 hours.  Sad   Wednesdays though?  You'll get 8 runs in 1 hour.   It's well worth blood-shot eyes the next day at work.
I picked March 31, hoping it doesn't run into any SPOKES or SASCA conflicts.  Let me know ASAP If I choose poorly.

Where:
San Antonio Raceway
http://www.sanantonioraceway.com
Gather over in the main Pits/Staging area.  Up against the wall if there is a decent sized spot.
How about a target of 8:00.  Go and get your car tech inspected as soon as you get there though.
No point in waiting.  Don't worry, Tech no where near as tight as an AutoX event.

Why:
We all love racing that AutoX clock, but there is just no substitute for a good 'ol Adrenaline Pumpin' Heads Up race!!
Or, perhaps your sick and tired of Vitek and Lance kicking your butt when there are corners involved?
Let's see if they have what it takes in a straight line!   Tongue

Ok, If your In for some Fun, post up in this thread!  That way we can get an idea of the expected turnout.  Clearly, the more the merrier!
I plan to bring my suction-cup mounted video camera for a bunch of in-car shots.  It's really easy to transfer from car to car.
Hopefully we can get someone in the stands with a camera too.

Shane.

If someone asks me "What'll it do?" and I say 8 seconds at 175mph, that would be a lie because I've nerver run it and I don't know. If I go and run and do it in, say a couple minutes at 44 mph, Then 8 seconds at 175 is a mere exaggeration. I'm gonna try to be there.

When the end of the day is near, you are either a driver, or a passenger.  You are either driven to be in the driver seat, or you need to stand back and hold on!

I can see it now -- Stanford and I lined up in the 12-second daily-driver sedans...  My 60ft is better, with the fatty RE-11s, but he has the higher trap speed due to the skinnier stock tires and lower rolling resistance...  It'd be a close run!   ;-)

'course, he'd probably want to see what the red beast will actually do with the new drivetrain...

Sounds fun.  Would be tempting to bring the Z, but I'll find something in red to bring.  :-)

OOOh this is gonna be cool.

Gotta finish my 3" exhaust, retard the cam, put in wideband and in-cab fuel pressure gauge, maybe the inline walbro, and see if i can kill the low-end enough to turn up the boost and make more HP without slipping the clutch..  Grin

Maybe i can trap over 100 mph this time.. id rather have the trap speed than 350+lb ft of completely unusable torque slowing me down in 1st and 2nd  Cry

What i would give for AWD!  Wink
