Where does one start when describing an event held on 3/4 of a road course with things like water, mud, low speed, handbrakes, high speed, a mandatory Kenny cone, doughnuts and pizza?

I think Ed summed it up best with "this is just silly fun!"

When was the last time you saw a GRM turbo Dodge Aries drifting?  (it's front wheel drive)

Oddly enough, there were a lot of Miatae.  But there was only one supercharged intercooled 99 piloted by our favorite overworked guy.

Forgot to mention the cotton candy obstacle.  Yes, Bo actually encouraged this sort of behavior!

FYI, the 'reverse' segment that everyone was concerned with?   I don't think anyone had trouble with it and it was a really fun element.  Can you imagine charging at your garage WOT in 4th gear, go though a couple of offset gates then stop?  Did I mention the wet patch at the front of the garage?

The H2R staff is the absolute best.  They wanted everyone to have fun and succeeded 100%.  We really hope they do something this goofy again, it was soooo much fun!   I have a feeling Dan will be doing a full writeup on the event.

Yeah, I saw that video on Youtube... That looks soooo dangerous.  That guy is literally inches from the curbs at some points in time... Eek!  No thanks!!

Tia, I agree.

The Harris Hill Road Gymkhana event (http://racingready.com/2010/02/06/1st-ever-h2r-gymkhana/) this past weekend was fun, but it wasn't in the true tradition of a tight, small, precision gymkhana course like this video you found.  I had hoped for lower/slower speeds & a much tighter course.  I guess it's true what they say...everything's bigger in Texas!

As Craig mentioned, I am working on a write up on this event for the blog, but still not finished!

Semantics.

Let's just not call what happened at H2R a gymkhana.  From here on out it is to be referred to as 'H2Rkhana'.  At the risk of getting blasted, gymkhana is to H2Rkhana as autox is to a track day.

I want to do this again at H2R and if some hosts a traditional gymkhana, a Ken Block gymkhana or even a local drift day - I'm there!

Point taken - well said!

H2R will need to come up with their own descriptive word, as you suggest!  And yes, they'll need to do it again!!!

Ack, im late here!

Here's the description i wrote elsewhere, as requested:

Heres a basic rundown of what we did:
Backwards down pit lane,
180 at the bottom onto the front straight,
first turn was divided by a line of cones which broke up the racing line and made you go slow on the outside, slow on the inside, or try to cut through the line of cones somewhere,
a pivot cone in the middle of a lake in the middle of a turn (you have to do a complete turn around it before you keep going, and there was water flowing across the track),
a normal high speed turn right after another water crossing,
a slalom,
an emergency lane change maneuver,
another river on the track, then a turn,
a field of cones you had to go through without touching any,
an apex cone that you HAD to hit or get a penalty,
2 gates to jink through and then come to a complete stop in a cone box
reverse out of the cone box all the way back through the first gate,
go forward AROUND the gate you reversed through, and haul --- down the finish line, which was also marked by water on the track.
