The SASCA annual tech party will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in conjunction with the Cars & Coffee Meet (See the link: http://www.sasca.org/forum/index.php/topic,3969.0.html).  We will set up an area in the parking lot away from the actual meet so as to not detract from the primary event...  Just look for the white Ford Ranger with the bright red Legends car on the trailer behind it to find the right spot!  If you are a current SASCA member, come on out and demonstrate that you know how to self-tech your vehicle and you will be given a 2010 tech inspection sticker, allowing you to avoid the tech line in the morning and check over your own car.

Remember: JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE ANNUAL TECH DOES NOT EXCUSE YOU FROM THE RESPONSIBILITY TO TECH YOUR CAR!!!!!  You must always ensure the following things before *EVERY* event (you will be tested to demonstrate you know to check for all of the items listed below):

* All lug nuts present and torqued properly to specifications -- if you have large hub caps that are NOT secured by the lugnuts themselves, they should be removed.
* No wheel bearing noise/play
* Steering should be solid/tight and not have any play in the wheel
* Brake fluid reservoir is full and you have solid pedal pressure.  Also make sure your brake pads and rotors are in good condition.
* Throttle return spring is in proper working order (vehicles with drive-by-wire likely cannot be tested)
* Battery is properly tied down -- bungee cords are NOT sufficient or acceptable!!
* All loose items are removed from the vehicle, including the driver's floor mat.  Make sure the trunk is also empty.
* Ensure you have proper oil and coolant levels as well as NO fluid leaks from the vehicle itself -- many engines have met their demise in high-g corners due to not having enough oil.
* Ensure your class and number designations are CLEARLY visible on the sides of your vehicle in a highly CONTRASTING color to the car itself.  Numbers are not permitted on the windows, as they generally are difficult to see from a distance.
* Tires -- must not be showing any cords at the start of the event
* Personal tech inspection: Closed-toed shoes are a must when AutoCrossing -- no sandals.

I hope the parking your referring to for tech spec is just the other side.
If not, please let us know exactly where.

I plan on being there to do a tech spec and help others as well.
