I noticed a lot of people registered in the wrong classes. There have been some class changes affecting former SS, AS and BS cars. And there should only be one car in Novice Super Stock, and he's driving a 2008 Z06. Please PM me if you read this, and I'll help get you in the correct class. I'll be working registration in the morning and it's a lot easier to do this now, especially with the number of entrants we have

Here's the list of workers for morning assignments:
7am morning setup:
Lee Sutterfield (in-person request) & PaulM (via Facebook message received yesterday) - Course setup help
oscargarza88 - Morning gate @ 7am.
Vigo - Help with tech starting @ 7:30am.
Nicog92 - Morning gate @ 8:30am.
Of course any additional help is definitely welcomed and encouraged....(even if I don't get a chance to personally thank everybody, I do appreciate it!) We're going to have a huge turnout at this event and will likely need additional folks to help with all sorts of things.
Thanks for playing!!!

Eric, ive noticed the same issue with people in the wrong classes. On a regular basis I'm letting folks know what class they should really be in. Sometimes they just dont know better, everyone should feel free to help out the new guys cause sometimes they are over classing themselves and getting discouraged. I constantly see miatas with minor mods and street tires that would put them in STS but instead gets tossed in SM2 to get picked apart by the wolves.
Also I'm done giving shelly pointers haha she kicked everyones but at the spokes event with john's old civic. Way to go girl!! That st class is getting real fun to watch and even more fun to be in.

Not everybody in SM2 is a wolf. Just most of them. That new STR class might be good for lightly modded Miatas maybe? Don't really know it. This knowledge does need to get spread around. Maybe its time for a car classing thread.
There is now a link to 2010 Classification info on the front page.
I will there in the AM to help setup, but need to leave by 9AM.
I will be bringing 1500 new wristbands, 18 rolls of tan painters tape, 9 rolls of blue painters tape, and 1 repaired air hose.
Anybody need any other equipment you can think of off hand?

Yeah, you can't really expect people (especially the new ones) to go through the whole SCCA rulebook to figure out which class they go. That really just doesn't happen. It's actually quite a lot to read when you're new at this -- the Novice Handbook, Club Rules (which actually don't address every club rule. ie: no street touring cars in novice class), technical inspection rules, PAX. Some probably don't even know some rules change every year.

I remember just 10-12 years ago, SASCA as a club had no idea if we could handle an event with 110-120 drivers participating. Things have gotten a lot more streamlined since that point!
Driver's meeting should be happening around 9:30-9:45 so we can get an early start this weekend. First car should be on course by around 10am.
Today is the last day before online registration closes -- anybody that thinks they might be registered in the wrong class would really help speed up the registration process on Sunday if they'd take a couple of moments today to do a search for their car in the rulebook and try to find out what class they fall into (and make the appropriate changes to their online registration in the AXWare system). Or, post up on the forum with what vehicle and modifications you have and we'll try our best to help you get in the right spot.
SCCA Rules, Appendix A, are located here:

"Ricers" ? ? ?
137 may well be the new record. In the early days of AT&T, at a joint Spokes / SASCA event, we had 13x or so IIRC.
Just a reminder, an early start and, most importantly, LAUNCH RATE are critical when the driver count does up. We should target a 20 second launch rate so we don't realize around lunch time that we in a time bind.
Bodes well for Blossom. Sure glad they repaved that lot.
