I'm new to this site and want to know what requirement are needed to compete in autocross events that the sasca is holding? Do I need to be a member of the scca or do I need any special training. I really want to try this I think my car would do well. I live in austin but its worth a trip. Any info or a person to talk to would be cool thanks

You need to have valid driver's license, proof of insurance for the car, and car that will pass tech inspection.  You do not need to be a member or have any training or previous experience. We get Novice drivers all the time and have a Novice Chief to help them along.  There is a Noivce Handbook link on the homepage of this site that you might want to look at.  The Novice Chief holds an organized "walk thru" of the course before each event and we can put an experienced driver in your passenger seat to help you get started.  We even have loaner helmets.

Austin also has a club. They are at http://spokes.org. Its a great club that has produced multiple National Champions over the years. Many of their fast folks can be found at SASCA events also.

Feel free to post back here or PM me with any specific questions you might have.

I'm the novice chief and I'll be helping you along when you get there.  Look me up, I'll be in the red CRX #72 (assuming a dont float away from all the rain!!!)
