John,
I completely feel for you and your Divisional experience. I have competed in a number of Divisionals, a National Tour Event and a ProSolo event and I can say that it is a mind screw sometimes with everything going on. Sorry to hear about your wounded car[B)]. Hope everyhting turns out okay.

It was my first SCCA event. It kinda sounds bad, but I'm not complaining. It was after all, two days of racin', and who would complain about that!
I added a pic while I was running taken by one of the Spokes folks.

I forgot to mention that there was a pro photographer there. He showed me some pics that he took of my car - one head-on showed me coming out of one of the hairpins on two wheels. Both tires on one side were well off the ground. I didn't realize that was happening/couldn't feel it.

sorry your car had tire problems, hope you had a good time anyway.. your writeup is a hoot
definately agree it was blazingly hot. the lightning and thunderstorm sat night was pretty amazing.. we even walked the course twice in the drizzling rain that night which probably didn't help my cold much..
i drove like crap, came in 2nd of 2.. was hoping i'd be closer to Amita on Hoosiers but wasn't.. maybe coz i was sick as a dog, maybe coz i just suck... [:-crazy]

I have a few sets of pictures from the same guy who did the divisionals. He is a pretty good shot, and I usually end up learning something about my driving/car when I bother to look at the pics. I just recieved my divisonals pictures, and found that my street tires lean and sway terrbily. I'm going to go ahead and use that as my excuse for coming in DFL in D-Stock!
Even coming in last, I still had a blast at Div's. It's a shame you didn't get to run the second day's course more, as I considered it to be more fun than the first. It didn't really help my times at all, but I had more fun. We really need to convince someone to build a parking lot like that here in San Antonio! I know there are some decent places to run around here, but I have yet to see anything like Gulf Greyhound!
So I guess the moral of this story is: Divisionals are fun, everyone should go to them next year!

P.S. For anyone who doesn't know Cathy, she really doesn't suck, she just likes to pretend she does so everyone is that much more suprised when she beats them!...she was sick though, and that doesn't help.

I had a great time there too. I can't wait to go again. I too was really liking the course on Sunday until the RF tire went flat on that last turn. I came in 3 of 3 in FP.
Hey, I took my flat tire down to the tire shop Saturday, and they tried to patch it, but the patch wouldn't stick and it still had an air leak. We put a tube in it and that should do it, but I would like to know, what do you use to patch a Hoosier bias road race slick? Vulcanizer? Anybody do it in San Antonio?

John,
The only tire shop in town that dosent run crying to their lawyers when we bring in our Hoosier bias slicks is The MAXX on San Pedro (inside 410 near Northstar mall). They are also the only people who dont bend our Kieser flimsy aluminum roadrace wheels. I havent needed to get a slick patched yet, but I imagine if anyone would even try to do it, they would.
