what would be the point in restricting posting for members wouldnt that completely diffuse the whole reason for forums?  And it is not my board for posting anymore than it is yours either,  but drifting was spawned by auto x... Ask any drifter when they started racing and they will tell you I used to Auto Xi stopped my posting on drifting I asked  when i first became a member if there were any clubs and then.  Asked if they would be interested in forming a club... and that is where I left it... Have you seen any new replys on it... NO ... so dont make it to where this is a Dictatorship or facsist forum you Forum Nazi.... We all prefer it to be democratic and free willed...

Driftking needs to be banned from this board for being stupid, annoying, and just for being a general d*ckhead. I know am I not the only person who feels this way.

Okay driftking go to your corner......markp go to your corner[B)]....now I see both points of view and agree that we need to let cooler heads prevail.
To that end...driftking please refrain from calling people Nazis. I for one know that markp is not a Nazi and find the very mention of the term offensive.[Sad!]
Markp it is a free forum but that may change if we have to start paying the webmaster to support its functions so to that end we can not restrict membership at this point.  I agree that too many posts by any one person seems monopolist and I have spoken to the parties concerned. [:I]
So that being that lets keep the name calling to a minimum gentleman. This is a public service offered by the club and I do not want to jeopardize it due to some immature actions of a few. [Cheesy]

BTW, markp I haven't put the topic to a vote of the BoD but I am fairly sure that the club has no intention of sponsoring any drifting events in the future.  Email me privately if either of you want to discuss.

VERY WRONG ANSWER HERE! Please, dont stereotype this kind of response with a driver that enjoys the art of drifting...PLEASE! AutoX, cool, Drifting, cool, do the two belong together, NO. I wouldnt miss it if the topic wasnt discussed on this forum...My .02

good to hear.   i sometimes worried if i was posting too much, seeing as how i was the #1 poster and the majority of #2's   post were technical in nature..

but seeing one person skyrocket to #1 after only a week or two and  their posts pervading almost every area of the forums, and little of them having any point,  i quit worrying about myself.

granted, finding areas to race and asking legitimate questions and all that is well and good,   but when i spend 15-20 hours a week on forums and own 6 cars and still cant find as much that i think is important enough to post about as that one person, i think its getting a little out of hand.

Thank you Kelly...Apology accepted but lets let the drifting topic die down.  I will ask the webmaster if it is possible to open up a Drifting section but keep in mind we have limited space so use the forum carefully.  That is all.

Kelly,
I don't know you, I have seen you Isuzu Amigo, but that is about as much as I know about you. You probably know about the same about me as well. Now I'll tell you right now that I am pro freedom of speech and I certainly am not a forum nazi, but you were a little out of control.

For what it's worth, I did not post as Anonymous, I'll tell you what I think right to your face and be honest with you. You may not like it but I won't hide. I think that the problem here is that you are just a very enthusiastic person and you really want to fit in. You are just trying too hard.

I don't think that you owe anyone an apology, Kelly, you were speaking your mind. Come over and talk to me at the next event, you'll find that I am certainly not a Nazi and I certainly have a warped sense of humor... after all my car has been running the number 666 since I started auto-xing.

After reviewing some of the links regarding drifting I have decided, on a personal basis, that drifting has no place in SASCA or on any SASCA related forum.  This forum was placed here on the behest of Wil Lee as a medium to showcase the professionalism of the club and to offer SASCA members the opportunity to post relevant SASCA related activities and in my opinion drifing does not fit any SASCA criteria.  At the next meeting I plan to ask the membership to vote on wheter the SASCA forum should allow posting by non-SASCA members. My hope is not to alienate but rather to encourage membership in our club.  If auto-xing, rallies, test-n-tune and perhaps car shows do not interest you then perhaps starting an independent club might not be a bad idea.  As far as members of SASCA being members of drifting clubs more power to them just keep drifting out of SASCA.  Also, Wil Lee, as the administrator of this forum, will delete any future posts pertaining to drifting.  I appreciate your understanding.

Well Mike... completely understandable....No more drifting posts from me Smiley)  and by non members being able to post... does that entitle people that arent in SASCA membership or in the sites membership... ?  I spend all day on this forum and as you can see i have completely slowed my posting rate i think I have posted like 4 replies in the last week:))  Please dont make it to where it is only readable and not repliable for me Sad(

Kelly,

No promises....it will be in the hands of the membership.  Simple solution is to become a member of the club and then wheter or not the forum is open to non-members is a moot point pertaining to you.

I hate to seem like a thorn in someone's side, but based on your comment, Mike, wouldn't limiting posts to SASCA members only make this forum seem somewhat elitist?

FWIW, I'm not a SASCA member.  I have yet to participate in a SASCA event, other than sitting on the sideline watching.  I have participated in numerous AutoX's and DE events through PCA for almost 2 years now.  I do plan to participate in a SASCA event sometime in the future, but not on a regular basis.  Because of that limit future participation, I cannot justify the cost of membership with the amount I'd save on event registration with the member's discount.  Just a simple fact of economics.

But I do try to promote SASCA events whenever the opportunity arises.  I'm the current VP of Events for San Antonio's Z-car club, Z-Sport.  I stay abreast of your event schedule and relay the information to our members that might be interested in participating or finding out what SASCA is about.

Every time I have been to a SASCA event and asked questions, I was responded to very nicely and never in a condescending way.  And the members I have met in person have never "rubbed" me in any wrong ways.  Everybody is extremely nice and willing to help out.  The way this forum is set up now mirrors that sentiment.

My belief, and mine alone, is that you should leave the forum the way it is set up.  If a forum member appears to get out of hand with what they are posting, then it should be the moderators job to contact that member and inform them that what they are posting could be considered questionable for the type of content that this forum supports.  That's what Moderators are there for.

By not being a SASCA member, I may not have a vote in this decision, but as a member of this forum, I at least have a voice.
