June 3rd autocross

hello everyone i am here asking of your assistance.  i have a very large meet scheduled on june 3rd for www.texas240sx.com in san antonio. i was hoping that we could get an autocross going for this date. the number of cars that are already scheduled to come is around 50 easy and steadily growing. i would like to know what it would cost and if there is anything i could help by supplying drinks for everyone if need be. ill will check back on the site frequently, but the easiest way to contact me would be by phone. 936-232-3078 my name is henry thanks for taking the time to read.

You should discuss with the President and the Board of directors.

A few questions you should be ready to answer ....

Do you have a site?  Do you have insurance?  Do you have workers?  What is your budget for this?

yes i have a site. what type if insurance will be needed? wouldnt it be possible to have to have the attendees work it as drive it?

The club voted on this at the April 4 monthly meeting and decided that SASCA does not wish to host autocross events at this time.  This has nothing to do with your club.  SASCA has been turning away requests to put on autocrosses for other clubs for a long time now. The club did it once and it went REALLY badly.  

Some SASCA members might still be able to help some. And the club might be willing to rent out cones. But the trailer, timing equipment, and large group experienced folks it actually takes to run an event are hard to come by.

Rather you need insuracne is up to you.  We have found that most sites require insurance when you tell them what you want to do on their parking lot.  SASCA and many other autocross clubs use K&K insurance.
SASCA never runs an event without insurance. And all of you venue leases have required it.
