Grasshopper123, as far as your insurance concerns I can say that when the issue of providing insurance information first came up I had many of the same concerns. The conclusion that I came to was that if it ever became an issue I could validly argue the point that I felt having a better idea of the handling of my vehicle and indeed the handling of it at its limits in an emergency situation made me a better and safer driver. This is sanctioned, insured competition and in all reality your automotive insurance would never cover anything that happened at an autox, as long as you and them both know that going in I would think there is little concern on your part.

I might have to disagree a little. The auto insurance companines are not even the slightest bit cool with us using an insured vehicle in an autocross. I specifically ask USAA what their policy would be if I used an insured car in autocross events. Their response was that they would not only drop insurance on that vehicle but would have to drop me and all my other vehicles as well. Our insurance policies clearly state that insurance won't pay for anything that happens in a competitive event but what it doesn't say is that major auto insurance companies still can't tell the difference between club autocrossing and street racing and will drop anybody that does either like a hot potato! Like you guys, I feel autocrossing makes me a much better driver, gets the pent-up hot rodding out of my system (yeah! even at 61!), and is considerably safer than a rush hour commute. I don't think I'll try to convince the insurance industry of that though.

So, is there a scanner available at on site regisration for walk ups? Or is a simple photocopy enough for your files. It seems this would be okay since ATT isn't collecting them.

If I got my POI in within the next few days I would still be able to run in the Apr. 13th event right? Went on a cruse with san antonio f-body going 16 through Kerrville to Llano, it was fun but I'm itching to really push some G's. [}}:-|>>]

You'll be fine. You'll also get a notification from SASCA after they have your POI on file.

So if I were to trailer in an insured street car, then the only POI I would have to provide would be for the tow vehicle?

If you have insurance on the vehicle you will be driving at the event, please provide that card.
