You got it, friend! [^] But I must warn you... I'm not very good yet.  But I ALWAYS have fun!  My biggest problem right now is entering the corners too fast, pushing the front end, and missing my line.  Also, spinouts are not out of the question at my skill level.  I promise a fun ride even if my times are not spectacular.

The course looks like fun...
If you don't get TTOD on your own course, you're going to catch some serious grief from the peanut gallery.  We can't have any more of this GS TTOD stuff going on.

See, that right there just sounds like fun to me.  I'm new to this as well (last weekend was my first time out).  We'll learn together.

Im not too worried about TTOD (unless someone who knows how to drive a kart shows up - or it rains). I want a top ten pax time. [Cheesy]

Mike, Im not gona make any promises but if its dry we should see the rwd guys putting down some faster times than Bri. But the only way we can do that is to take away darth gimpy from her first.  That or don't let her car pass tech with the hoosiers on the rear.

Well, since you'll be in big sh!# if you get pulled over or in a wreck on the streets without it, I highly recommend you go to your local DMV office, stand in line, and apply for a replacement.  You can get it done in PLENTY of time for the February event (you'll have at least a temporary paper license immediately and it only takes a couple weeks to get the real one in the mail).

Ya'll need to write a letter to the SCCA and tell them that Divisionals, National Tours, and even the championships are inherently flawed:  unfair to the competitors that run first heat [/sarcasm]

At some point we all have to run in the first heat, and so we all get the pleasure cleaning the line, at some time, even the prepared guys, even the SS Corvettes, even the street tire shod S2000's, even the lowly CS Miata's.  Oh, and the vintage asphalt surface at Verizon is never *that* grippy, so why complain about it?  Just sounds like sour grapes....

I'm all for running 3-4 runs one direction one direction, and then switching directions. In fact I think it makes for a better event:

1) its fun for experienced guys, and higher level competitors: as it challenges their ability to get it done in 3
2) it prepares the up-and coming competitors for the next level, with out the surrounding pressure associated with that sort of event
3) it gives Novices a chance to run 2 courses in one day, allowing them to learn their car's handling in a wider variety of situations, encouraging them to learn techniques for reading, and driving courses. It gives them time to talk to more experienced people and ask for tips.
4) it allows for and encourages a break in the middle of the day so that people can go eat, re-hydrate, ESPECIALLY when there are only 2-3 run groups.

Just because SASCA ran one event like that doesn't mean we need to make a habit of it.

95%+ of our drivers are out there for fun, not to wind up at nationals.  With the number of novices we have at each event (just look at the crowd following Kevin around the course before the driver's meeting), changing the course in the middle just frustrates them because, just as they are starting to figure it out, it gets changed on them.

Just my $.02.

I agree 100% Reversing the course sucks if your just learning how to autox.

I would have to say no because we have no way of verifying it. Like Ricky said you have plenty of time to get a temp one from DMV.
