Just a reminder thread that everyone is eligible to be the Eventmaster for one of our events.

The Eventmaster is responsible for the basic course design, and must be on hand during setup.  The Eventmaster should also notify the Worker Chair (Richard Watson) of any volunteers that helped in course setup.  Once that's done, you get to sit back and marvel at your efforts as your friends try to mangle every part of your course.  You will also earn points to the Worker of the Year Award.

Typically people who want to serve as Eventmasters will attend the monthly meeting and the BOD will consider and approve/disapprorve.  But I would think that with all this electronic new-age internet stuff, that if you email a member of the BOD, they will forward your request if you cannot make the meeting.

If you are selected to be the Eventmaster, and you think you don't know ANYTHING about coourse design, there are plenty of us to help you.  All we are concerned about are safety and "car equality" issues, but new ideas are always encouraged.

Even if you are just thinking about it, we'd like to hear from you.

I can't speak to the Event Master requirements, but this is a good manual on course design written by Roger Johnson (Houston region):
