Monaco looks best.  Be better if I had power steering.....

What about a start, slalom, box, straight, box, slalom, finish?  Too simple?  I like simple.  Never  mind.

WHOA!![:-bigeyes][:-bigeyes]

I'd like to do all three of them!!!

MOnte Carlo sounds the coolest because of its heritage but full loop and CCW lok more difficult and confusing. Mark me down for which ever course is most popular.[:-viking]

Thanks for your comments so far.

The more complicated course layouts are "experiments;" we have a small lot, and the only way to extend the event is to somehow find a way to re-use parts -- which can be done.

Also, each course needs to have a ratio of inputs/maneuvers to qualify as an autocross.

If you ever 'played' the Monte Carlo course on a computer game (I bought a copy of Grand Prix 3 at Big Lots for $5.99), you'd find that the first straight is a slalom -- once you exit Saint Devote, you wind right, then left at Rosie's bar and then right again for Massenet - with a left to finish and set up for the Casino --and I plan to get that in.

The last part (as well), plays like a slalom, the Tunnel Straight has full right steering lock to get to Nouvelle Chicane to start -- hopefully the left-right-left-right-left from Nouvelle Chicane through Tabac and out the Swimming Pool complex will have the same effect.  I'll try to keep the braking out of Tabac to get that motion.

I am thinking that we are on our way to Monte Carlo..

Tray byeen, maydams eh monsewers, bee-yay-ve-new a la Gran Prix du Montee Carlo.

Watch the Course Design Forum for "Anatomy of a Event"  -- I will post and comment on the course design specifications -- kinda like a study guide.

I will include one or two brainers, but I plan to post a driving key before the event

I have submitted a course layout to the BOD pending their approval.  Once that has been completed, I will add to the 'Anatomy' of a Race Course' in the Course Design Section, and include perceived driving lines, perspective views, etc.

Thanks, all, Mike

I think the monaco looks the best to me, i may have to come out if you guys do that, seeing as how I really have no other place to run at the moment.  Man we need a real track in this town!

The BOD has accepted the Mini-Monty as the course for September, pending some looking at the hairpin (Loews).

This is one of the most famous corners in automobile racing.  I plan to preserve its effect without sacrificing driving fun.

Secret Key to Loews Hairpin
After reading this, if you take out cones, you should be ashamed---
Loews isn't really a hairpin.
It's a 90-left, with a 1/4 added turn to a lazy S to the right to set up for the tunnel straight.

You're going to brake deep, come to a near stop.  Add a little gas, turn left, and then slowly add gas while turning right through to Portier (I think -- the short chute after Loews).

If you do it right, you'll be on the gas at the apex and really have some fun.
