Ok, here the first iteration for discussion.
The purpose is to create a general non-course layout and stay close to it. This layout must allow for a safe event, and facilitate run group changes and overall traffic flow.
1. I'd like to try something different from the "Le Mans" style grid from the last event. I think opening up the road ONLY for a re-run or for Co-drivers will work out better. We have a lot of area; we can use the far edge of the parking area for a grid that we're used to. Point the cars accrding to the Event Start.
2. Tech Inspection can still be placed on the roadway; let's form two lines. Move the air tank to the grid area that will be otherwise open. This roadway should be closed at all times; open only for Tech and for ingress/egress by competitors.
3. I've outlined two possible Start location and two possible Finish locations. Trailer should be parked close to the Finish so that drivers can hear if they get a re-run. Light boards and cabling solved elsewhere in forum.
4. Everyone should spread out in the pits and respect previous setups. I arrived before 7:00AM the last event, snagged a good spot, spread out my stuff and someone squatted in my spot when I went to tech (that was YOU, Black Toyota Truck [

!] ). Had to pack up everything and move. Everyone can grab up to four spots and it would be safer that way. Besides, moving the Grid will encourage everyone to move closer to "open up."
5. Designated a No Parking area around registration and high traffic. Also created a "Pit Road" for safety. We can use Verizon Cones to outline the outer areas and segregate spectator and competitor traffic.
6. Special Cars, those that don't have a keyed ignition or otherwise can be parked in this area when not in Grid.
Once we've finalized a dsign, we can "half-and-half" the Map and the Lot onto a sheet of paper and hand it out during events.
I'd like constructive criticism only. If you have a problem, come up with a suggestion to fix it, or just don't post your comments.
